Since 1976 (the start of the NPC) Mid Canterbury has won the 2nd Division South Island competition twice, in 1980 & 1983, the 3rd Divison twice, in 1994 & 1998, and the Meads Cup in 2013.

The most appearances is by Jon (Jock) Ross (158) from 1970 - 1987.
The most points scored is by A H A Smith (598) from 1955 - 1968.
The most tries scored is by Geoff Bryant (47) from 1968 - 1977.

In 2016 Mid Canterbury finished 5th in the Heartland round robin series & went on to lose a semi final in the Lochore Cup.

The 2017 coaches are Craig Dunlea & James Jowsey.
